Bennett's story

"I was playing with my toys and my little Brother Sawyer was having so much fun watching me :)..."

"We were all so happy on this morning because we knew that Daddy was coming home and that he only had to work one day out of the next 8 days!!!"

"A beautiful fall afternoon required some backyard family play time :) "

"WEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!"

"Then Mommy & Daddy got to go on a date!
First they went on a hike up to the top of Quartzite Mountain, which is only about a 15 minute drive from our house..."

"They could even check in on us while they were on their hike!"

"And then they went out for a nice dinner at 'The Chalet' in Chewelah, I think they really had fun without us!!!"

"Thanks Auntie LoLo for taking care of us while Mommy & Daddy had went out on their dates!"

Using Jack as crawling bait :)

Sawyer has been scooting backwards proficiently for some time now, and could "squirm" forward a little bit as well... but as of yesterday he is getting proficient at moving forward now too!

*Disclaimer for those who don't know our kitty Jack:  No, he is not injured, or in pain!
He is just special :)  And we love him that way :) :) :)

One Year

September 16th 2012 was the day I put my first post up on this blog!
Looking back at those pictures brings back many memories... SO much has happened this past year!

One year ago we were living in Vancouver, Washington... in a small apartment... I was about 4 months pregnant with Baby Knutson #2 (aka Hulk Baby at the time... now known as Sawyer Dean!), Bennett was 15 months old, I was working at the VA in Portland, Erik was commuting from Portland to Spokane... and we had already made a couple trips to Chewelah to check out the town and area to see if we wanted to make it our home!

Now here we are... family of four...

...happy to be calling Chewelah, Washington our home :)

PTL!

Busy times

Erik got home this evening after working 15 out of 17 days in a row... oofta!

Time to relax!!!  :)

Sawyer missed his Daddy :)

This evening is also the end of a week off from work for me... it was so good, boy did I need it!
Just like I need this wine! ;)

Bennett was out playing with us too but I didn't get a picture of him I guess... he's too busy!
Andddd.... that's all folks!

Pictures of food

(Can NOT stop eating this!!!  Credit to my beautiful cousin Sarah for the delicious recipe!)

Grandma Springer's Bran Muffins... a fond memory from my childhood :)

And just for fun, a before and after shot (in the same shot) of Sawyer's favorite fruit puree!
I make large batches with my heavy duty food processor and freeze the purees in baby food ice cube trays, and it works wonders!  I can put one cube of pear puree into any vegetable puree and add some rice cereal and viola, he devours it :)  Pear, carrot, and rice cereal has been his favorite combo so far... which i'm not surprised about since that was Bennett's favorite too :)

"Upside Down" by Jack Johnson

Who's to say what's impossible?
Well they forgot this world keeps spinning
And with each new day
I can feel a change in everything
And as the surface breaks reflections fade
But in some ways they remain the same
And as my mind begins to spread its wings
There's no stopping curiosity
I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I'll find the things they say just can't be found
I'll share this love I find with everyone
We'll sing and dance to Mother Nature's songs

I don't want this feeling to go away
Who's to say I can't do everything?
Well I can try, and as I roll along I begin to find
Things aren't always just what they seem
I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I'll find the things they say just can't be found
I'll share this love I find with everyone
We'll sing and dance to Mother Nature's song
This world keeps spinning and there's no time to waste
Round and round and upside down
Who's to say what's impossible and can't be found?
I don't want this feeling to go away

Please don't go away
