Innocence

"In our culture we usually see innocence as a state of ignorance that should eventually be put aside.  But doesn't some information harm us, regardless of age?  

The virtue of innocence is not the same thing as a state of inexperience into which we were born.  Although none of us are perfect, innocence refers to ordinary people whose purity helps them resist deception.

When innocence liberates our best impulses, we are free to 'do what love asks us to do.'.  Sometimes fear or pride holds us back, but innocence moves us to do the good thing, to give someone a hug or a compliment, or invite someone over, or express gratitude, or help out a poorer person, or take a creative risk, or bring Jesus into a conversation."

Bennett and Daddy went on a solo trip to the ski resort on Tuesday, since Sawyer was taking a long nap and Mommy was tired too after having a migraine all day on Monday.

Erik had to take him on the chairlift when I wasn't there... because I was too nervous!!! LOL!

Can't wait for Sawyer to ski with us too... or, maybe he'll be a snowboarder!  Who knows :)

Mommy wouldn't mind having a little snowboarder buddy... I haven't been snowboarding in years! I miss it!
